ABOUT CAROLINE
 

Caroline Smith is an emerging mezzo-soprano from Orlando, Florida. She is a recent graduate student of the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with the acclaimed Katherine Ciesinski, to receive her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, studying with Dr. Jeremy Hunt. Recent role experiences includes Ching's Notes on Viardot (Georges Sand) with Buffalo Opera Unlimited (upcoming), Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadamar (Federico García Lorca) with Eastman Opera Theatre and Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro (Marcellina) with UCF Opera. Recent concert work includes performing as a soloist in Mendelssohn's Elijah, Bruckner's Mass in F minor and Stravinsky's Cantata on Old English Texts, all at the Eastman School of Music. Recent accolades include second place at the National Association of Teachers

of Singing (NATS) competition.

This spring season, Caroline covered the role of Geneviève in Debussy's Impressions de Pelléas with Eastman Opera Theatre in February, performed her masters recital "Danse macabre" in March, and performed as an Alto Soloist in Mendelssohn's Elijah, under the baton of

Dr. William Weinert, in his special final concert at the Eastman School of Music.

Besides performing, she is interested in learning more about arts administration/management, program writing/editing,
